I have been designing digital experiences for more than 20 years and am now working independently with agencies and brands to bring smart user-centric thinking to the design of products and digital experiences. While holding specific expertise in UX and UX strategy, I am expanding my focus to include customer experience and service design. I am happiest when leading a workshop or getting cross-disciplinary teams to work together in new ways. I taught UX to the next generation of advertising creatives for three semesters at Miami Ad School.
Most recently, I led User Experience Strategy at McCann NY, focusing on UX, tech and platform strategy for NY Lottery. Previously, I established the UX practice at Edelman Digital and brought user-centric design thinking to clients such as GE, Comcast and Samsung. Before joining Edelman, I led the UX practice at Geometry Global/ G2, I also served as VP, Digital Strategy at BBDO North America helping clients better understand the digital lives of their customers. With an extensive background translating user needs to successful digital experiences, I have worked as a UX Strategist and Experience Architect at digital agencies Big Spaceship and Organic, where I led the agency's persona development efforts. I've worked with a diverse array of clients including AT&T, NBC Universal, Viacom, Linden Lab, Bank of America, Johnson’s Baby, Procter & Gamble, Heineken, and Hertz. Before working in interactive marketing, I worked in film production for 5 years as an Art Director and Production Designer. I hold a Master’s Degree in Film from Boston University and a BA from Trinity College in Art History. I live in Brooklyn Heights with my wife Ria and daughters Annabel and Lucy. I'm passionate about food (both in the kitchen and at the table), history, architecture, and sailing; and am currently attempting to become a competent woodworker. Resume:
